Opportunistic Fixed

Opportunistic Fixed Income is a "best ideas", multi-sector, absolute return strategy which – by design – has open guidelines to allow us to take advantage of the abundance of opportunities within the fixed income market. This total return strategy focuses on rotation among – and security selection within – high yield, investment grade credit, emerging markets, mortgages, non-US bonds and bank loans.

In addition, the strategy utilizes a wide target duration band which allows Standish's team to position the portfolio optimally in all rate environments, including a rising one. Along with sector allocation and duration flexibility, the investment team has the ability to scale the risk budget of the portfolio appropriately to both take advantage of market dislocation opportunities and to protect against the downside.

Standish's Opportunistic investment capabilities include:

Strategy Strategy Objective
Opportunistic Fixed Income Actively managed absolute return strategy with broad exposure to all fixed income sectors, including high-yield, investment grade credit, emerging markets debt, mortgage pass-throughs, non-US sovereigns and currencies. Return Target: LIBOR +3%-5%
Low Volatility Opportunistic Actively managed absolute return strategy with broad exposure to all fixed income sectors, including high-yield, investment grade credit, emerging markets debt, mortgage pass-throughs, non-US sovereigns and currencies. Return Target: LIBOR +1%-2%

An "absolute return" strategy seeks to earn a positive total return over a reasonable period of time, regardless of market conditions or general market direction. The strategy seeks to earn a targeted return over a reasonable period of time - generally at least three years or more - since investment returns will likely fluctuate over shorter periods of time as market conditions vary, even under an "absolute return" strategy. There is no guarantee that the performance objective will be met and it is possible for the portfolio to experience periods of negative return.

*Flexible to meet client guidelines and objectives.
